Job Title: Electrician

Department: Operations

Reports to: Assembly Supervisor

Position Summary: Performs electrician functions including; building electrical control panels, field (point to point) wiring of standard and custom machines and installation of other electrical components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes all of the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Field wiring of standard and custom machines.
  2. Control panel construction and wiring.
  3. Installation of switches, components, motors, transformers and HMI’s.
  4. Drilling, tapping, mounting and building of enclosures.
  5. Commissioning and debugging machinery in assembly department.
  6. Service of machinery at customer locations (may require travel out of state or country).
  7. Prepares reports as required by management.
  8. Analyzes and resolves technical electrical problems or assists workers in solving technical electrical problems.
  9. Helps construct manuals
  10. **Other duties may be assigned as required by management.**

Education and/or Experience: Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school; and three (3) to five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in electrical wiring, electrical schematic reading and mechanical skills. Experience in small hand tools required. Knowledge of PLC’s and HMI’s is a plus. SolidWorks knowledge or experience is a plus.

Language Skills: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of electrical instructions in schematic or diagram form.

The employee frequently is required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, squat, and kneel to perform wiring or installation functions. Lifting of 75 lbs. is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
