DD-250 Dual Drum Flex Circuit Laminator

Precision Lamination of Flexible Circuits to Heat Sinks

The DD-250 Dual Drum Flex Circuit Laminator is designed to accurately laminate flexible circuits to heat sinks using a controlled, repeatable rolling-lamination process.

During operation, the operator manually places the heat sink onto a locating fixture and positions either a die-cut pressure-sensitive tape or printed circuit board onto the vacuum-assisted applying drum. Retractable locating pins ensure accurate positioning of both the tape and the flex circuit prior to lamination.

The lamination cycle rolls the material onto the heat sink as the assembly is traversed beneath the vacuum drum, producing consistent, precise bonding results.

Overview

Dual-Drum Lamination Made Precise

The DD-250 uses a two-stage lamination process to first apply the adhesive material and then apply the flexible circuit after liner removal. Each step is performed with controlled pressure and alignment to ensure consistent placement.

Indicators on each drum provide clear visual alignment reference, while an air-pressure-controlled platen delivers uniform lamination force across the full application area. This design helps minimize variation and supports tight placement tolerances required in electronic assemblies.

Accuracy Where It Matters Most

By combining vacuum drum positioning, retractable locating pins, and pressure-controlled lamination, the DD-250 delivers repeatable accuracy for both tape and flex-circuit placement.

Operators gain a controlled and intuitive process, while engineering teams benefit from precise, documented alignment performance suitable for high-value assemblies.

One Laminator — Flexible Assembly Capability

The DD-250 is designed to support a range of flexible circuit and heat-sink configurations and can accommodate:

  • Die-cut pressure-sensitive double-coated tapes
  • Flexible circuits of varying sizes
  • Manual loading with guided fixturing
  • Integration into controlled assembly environments

Built-in light curtain guarding provides operator safety while maintaining accessibility and workflow efficiency.
