SD-60 / SF-60 Feeding and Conveying System

High-Speed, Automated Tape Application

The SD-60 / SF-60 Automatic Taping System is designed to automatically feed, convey, and apply adhesive tape to corrugated or paperboard blanks and other flat products at high production speeds.

This fully automated system feeds blanks from a hopper onto a conveyor, applies one or more lanes of tape precisely, and conveys the product out for additional processing. With application speeds of up to 500 feet per minute, the SD-60 / SF-60 is built for demanding, high-throughput packaging environments.

Top-loading of the feeder allows operators to load material while the system is running—supporting continuous operation and increased productivity.

Overview

High-Speed Taping Made Reliable

The SD-60 / SF-60 combines automatic feeding, precise tape application, and continuous conveying into a single integrated system. Once loaded, the machine handles product advancement and tape placement automatically, minimizing operator intervention and variation.

Designed for paperboard and corrugated applications, the system supports consistent tape placement while maintaining production efficiency across a wide range of product sizes.

Productivity Through Automation

By automating both feeding and tape application, the SD-60 / SF-60 reduces manual handling, improves consistency, and supports higher line speeds.

Operators benefit from simplified interaction, while production teams gain predictable output and smoother downstream processing—resulting in improved overall equipment effectiveness.

One System — Multiple Taping Configurations

The SD-60 / SF-60 is designed to support a variety of taping configurations and production needs, including:

  • Application of adhesive tape with liner in place or removed
  • Application of tear strip tape
  • Single or multiple lanes of tape in one pass
  • Integration with downstream processing equipment
  • Dual lane options allow for two different blanks to be taped with the same conveyor

Its modular architecture allows the system to adapt to changing tape types, product formats, and packaging requirements.

Built to Match Your Process Requirements

The SD-60 / SF-60 Automatic Taping System can be configured with optional features to support specific production goals, including:

  • Multiple tape applicators, explore tape applicators
Apply several lanes of tape (up to 9) simultaneously in a single pass
  • Suppo#rts tear tape, adhesive transfer tape, magnetic tapes, and foam tapes
  • Dual taping heads with automatic switching
Enables continuous operation by automatically switching when a tape roll runs low
  • Downstream processing equipment, explore material handling solutions
Integration with stackers, shingling conveyors, and other material-handling solutions
  • Dual lane applications

Straub Design engineers work closely with customers to ensure each system configuration aligns seamlessly with the complete packaging line.
